Historical routes in Vorbasse

The historical routes start at Vorbasse Krigshavn and are approximately 2 kilometers long. Along the way, small signs tell the fascinating history of Vorbasse. The routes pass through both town and countryside, including the church and the sacred spring, allowing you to enjoy peaceful nature and the changing seasons.

Put on your hiking shoes and explore Vorbasse’s history through the ages.

Heart Trails in Vorbasse

The Heart Trails begin at Vorbasse Activity Center and lead through forests, the town, lake areas, and playgrounds. In the town center, you’ll find Vorbasse’s 800-year-old church with the sacred spring in the cemetery, the origin of the famous Vorbasse Market. Pass by Krigshavnen and see the Dalgas memorial stone, dedicated to the cultivation of the moors. Along the old railway line (the disused Troldhede Line), wild apple trees have grown from seeds discarded by train passengers. Benches and picnic areas are available along the way. Maps are available at reception, and the trails are open year-round.

The Routes:

  • Red Route (4.9 km): Passes Vorbasse Church, the sacred spring, and the forest with wooden animal sculptures. Bonus: Extend the route to Runde Lake or Søndersø.
  • Yellow Route (3.7 km): Goes through the town, past SuperBrugsen, Vorbasse Market Square, and into Præsteskoven.
  • Green Route (3.8 km): Leads through peaceful surroundings at Fredsskoven in Jægerlund.
  • Blue Route (4.5 km): Follows the old Troldhede Line, with apple trees along the way. Bonus: Extend the route to the idyllic Nørresø.
